Comments
- What do you think about the “Us” and “We” that is used throughout the site? Do you have a team? If so, we should adjust the “About Us” to reflect that. If it is just you, then I would sell myself and make the writing more personal by saying “I”. Can we get a photo of you for the About page?
- Contact page: I love the “Starbucks on me” on the Kaylyn Gyuris site. What do you think about doing something like that on the contact page?
- Packages:
- What isn’t working on those and why do you think they need to be less wordy?
- I wonder if there is a way to adjust so there is less focus on “11 hours” and “3 one-hour” type of statements. I understand you need to protect your time. But, also people might look at you and think you are charging x-amount an hour and now you are in the world of retail, instead of a boutique service. Maybe focus on what they get during that time and at the bottom in smaller letters it says “this covers X-amount of hours. Additional hours will be X”
- Maybe we could do the packages as a chart so they can compare easier. That would make it less wordy.
- Services page: I’d like to have some photos for each section here. Also, what if we renamed this to “How we plan your big day” or “What to expect”?
- I’d like to move the areas you service to the footer on each page. I think it will do better for you in the search engines.
- We can integrate your IG posts like within weddings.com. Might be nice on the press page, or the home page.
- Press page: This page is pretty outdated. Can we get anything more modern to add to it? I’m concerned the age makes it look stale. We could move the WPI logo to the footer of the entire site.

Quality Web Development
Wordpress Sites
- Custom work: Templates introduce security hazards as well as a cookie-cutter look to websites. Your site will be designed specifically for you, without the use of risky templates, to allow you to stand out among your competitors. Customized programming also makes sure your site isn't slowed down by unneeded software that can bloat your site and slow it down. Planning for the future is easier as well, because your site will maintain the ability to both increase current and add new functionality as new technology arrives. Every business is unique. Websites should be built to fit you and your needs, not the other way around.
- Upgrade notification: If you utilize my hosting services, these upgrades will be performed for you.
- Security: Security software will be installed and configured to help prevent hackers from getting into your site by blocking them from the server if malicious activity is detected. Daily scans of your website files are also done to ensure they are clean from malware.
- Style Guide: A private style guide page for styling hints will be created just for you, in case you want to make changes your site.
- Installation Modification: Your installation of WordPress will be adjusted to make it more secure. If the bad guys can't find your login, they won't waste time trying. This keeps your website running at optimum speed.
- Clean Setup: The default Wordpress installation includes a lot of extra items such as plug-ins and themes you don't need. These items take up valuable server space and more importantly, unused items invite hackers. These extraneous items are all removed to ensure your site isn't bloated and vulnerable.
- Rankings: If your old site has been up for a while, you may have built up some ranking you don't want to lose. 301 redirects will be created for those older pages. This is like a forwarding address so that Google and your customers don't get lost from arriving at a page that doesn't exist any more.
Optimization
- Graphics: Best practices are used to optimize your graphics, cache, and build to load as quickly as possible for your viewers.
Security
- Scanning: Special code is added to disable execution of scripts in vulnerable directories. This prevents hackers being able to hide active malware deep into your website where it can do harm.
- Robots: Websites are constantly being scanned by on-line "robots." Some robots are good (like Google). Other's are not. Specific code will be added to prevent robots from scanning folders they don't need to be in. This helps keep your site running smoothly.
General
- Site map: Large sites will have a site map that lists links to all of your pages. This is great for Google and also helps visitors.
- Code validation: Tests are run to make sure your web site doesn't have any code problems before you go live.
- Google: If you have or obtain a Gmail email account, I will happily install Google Analytics on your website.
- Favicon: This is that tiny image that shows up next to your URL in a browser. It's just another way to customize and brand your website.
- Error page: A customized 404 Error Page is created for your site, in case someone gets lost and needs to get back on track.
- Multiple Domains: Did you know if you have more than one domain name pointing to the same website Google will rank them separately? This dilutes your "Google Juice." If you have multiple domains, they will be programmed to resolve to a single place, eliminating the problem.
- Email Encoding: If your email is visible on your website it will be collected by spammers. Spammers will use your email to send you spam or to create fake emails that look like they are sent by you. This can affect your business by generating spam complaints directed at your company which can land your domain name on a blacklist. Email addresses will be hidden or encoded to prevent harvesting by spammers, while still being useful to visitors.
